Clock tower has a song and light show every night. We grabbed a treat at a nearby cafe and had frontrow seats!

Board game cafes are popular as place to meet friends, play games, sometimes enjoy food and drink, and some even use it as a way to learn English by reading the instructions and cards on the games. Great idea! Games are imported from all over the world and I think this is a really fun thing to check out while in Chiang Rai. :)

See the Doi Tung tea plantation. You can take some great panoramics here. There is also a building you can go to for tea tastings etc, but it was packed when we visited so we opted to do something else!

You should check out the beautiful Mae Fah Luang Gardens. Entrance fee is was minimal, I believe 90 baht. Supposedly the queen wanted people to see flowers from around th world and thus this garden was established. (That's what our friends told us) It is phenomenal. Not only are there amazing flowers in these gardens but it's also like a living museum where you can see how houses used to be structured, skills like wood carved items, and old fashioned swings, so many cool things here! 

Outside there are food vendors. Try to find a hill tribe woman with food like this:

After climbing the stairs near a temple I do not know the name of, you can enjoy this incredible view of Myanmar and Laos while standing at the Northern Border of Thailand. 

​Just beware of the bathroom situation...
(No paper, no sprayer, just a bucket of water with a bowl in it.......)

If you’re going to stay at B2 hotel in Chiang rai, be aware that there are 2 locations. Unbeknownst to us, we booked the sketchy location. But it was crazy cheap and we were only there for a couple nights so no huge deal.

There’s a kebab place right at the entrance of the food court in Central World Mall. It’s bomb. Eat there.

If you’re looking for a fun haircut experience for a guy, this place was called Jack's Barber Styling.

The place is funky and the stylist is highly energetic and has a real vision for you, if you can explain what you want. Okay you may get something slightly different, but same-same right? It’s a great value and hilarious for your travel buddy sitting and watching it all happen. Trust me. ;p
